Nic stretches in Les Houches, France, our starting point for the hike.
A water fill up and a bathroom! It is not often you see these two together . The water comes out of the spout on the left and pools in the log.

An overcast day at the top
On the morning of day 3, we made it to the highest point.
The scenery is alright.

Is it dinner time yet?
Finally, a stretch of flat land!
We walk away from a mountain hut providing heat and showers. Our tent is starting to feel like home.
We just crossed over to Italy and the wind almost blew us off the mountain!
A few minutes after this, we ate lunch next to a public restroom, the only thing offering some shade.
Good thing I packed my wool sock.
Signs are helpful but we found not always accurate.

And now for the walk down
I mean – this is pretty amazing.
You should always wear a white hat while hiking. White apparel makes sense when you live outside…that’s why I also wore a white shirt.
We had great weather..for the most part.

Espresso before a day of hiking
The day before we left on the hike, we stayed in mountain hut in Les Houches. This was the view from our room.
We ate a lot of freeze-dried soups for dinner. This was Thai Soup made with French water.
